The bowling season is fast approaching. Organizational meetings are soon taking place. Many leagues obtain their own bowlers via waiting lists or subs becoming full time teams. We keep a list of all people who contact us and provide these to league secretaries. If there are spots to fill the secretary will contact those from the list we provide. We do our best to satisfy all the new bowlers, however there are only so many spots to fill. To accommodate this we are creating a new Thursday night league which will run for 10 weeks beginning October 4th and ending December 13th.
Congratulations to Paul Kaminski on winning the 2018 Masters scratch tournament. Thanks to all the bowlers for coming out and putting on a great display on some challenging conditions! Also a big thank you to everyone who made this tournament possible behind the scenes and keeping score!
Joe Guerriero won the January 2017 9 pin no-tap with an 872!! Also congrats to Mike Kilosky, Jack Melhuish jr. and Tim Tesmer for shooting 300 in the tournament! Thanks to all the participants for making this another fun outing!
On the first night of the 2017 season of the Deno's Tuesday night classic, Anthony Lombardo Shot a 300 on his 3rd game to tie Jim Sweeney's house record of 783! Great Bowling!
This year the tournament was held on the unforgiving 2016 USBC masters oil pattern, strikes were hard to come by and a good spare game was a must. At the first cut point after 5 games John Contos lead all bowlers followed by Robert Damadeo, Contos boasted a 298 to get there. The top 5 cut point was another story Bob Miller lead all scores followed by Alec Beard, Mike Kilosky, Mike Olson and Anthony Lombardo. In the first match Lombardo defeated Olson, match two Lombardo defeated Kilosky. Match 3 Beard defeated Lombardo and in the finals Miller defeated Beard to win back to back titles. Metro Bowl would like to thank all the bowlers who came out hopefully we will see you all next year. Also a big thanks to the McHenry County USBC for putting on another great tournament and thanks to all the score keepers it was much appreciated.
Jim Sweeney bowled a Metro Bowl house record high series of 783! Jim's scores were 259, 267, and 257. Jim's series eclipsed the old record of 781 rolled by his hall of fame dad, Pete Sweeney. Nice bowling Jim!
